Workshop Location: Right on the beach at the full service Shilo Inn Suites Oceanfront Hotel in Newport. Their newly renovated
hotel features 179 beautifully appointed guestrooms, each with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, south jetty and to the
north, the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Our workshop is situated at the heart of the central Oregon Coast in the charming coastal
community of Newport. Convenient to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and countless coastal activities all within an easy driving
distance of the hotel offering spectacular scenery, whale watching, tide pools, fishing, crabbing, boating, golfing, galleries and
antique shops. It is the perfect location for classes painting plein air. We will travel to locations to paint during the week. If we
venture to Depoe Bay or other further places we can make carpooling arrangements amongst ourselves. There is no charge for
parking at the hotel. September is usually one of the driest months of the year on the Oregon coast, but should it rain, we also
have a studio space reserved for the week. The indoor meeting space provides plenty of natural and ceiling light, tables and
chairs for students. The days should be moderate, but the evenings will cool off. Be sure to bring a warm coat as well as a
lightweight jacket or sweatshirt.

Class Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and end at 3 p.m. on Friday. Lunch Hour is from 12:00 p.m.
to 1:00 p.m. However, some instructors may elect to take 1.5-hour lunch break and extend class until 4:30 p.m.

complimentary USA Today newspaper is available daily at the front desk. We also have two heated pools, a cafe, restaurant,
and a lounge on the premises. Should you have need, we have photocopy and fax services available. We also have physically
challenged and short stature accessibility kits.

Transportation
The Portland Airport (PDX) is located 150 miles north of Newport, Oregon. – PDX is a 2.5-hour drive to Newport.

Eugene Airport (EUG) is 85 miles east of Newport, Oregon and about a 1.5-hour drive to Newport.
