2nd Annual
Welcome to the World of Painting
Art Scholarship Available
In 2009 we had several calls from artists looking for scholarships or grants for art workshops. We began a
search online to see if we could help and maybe post a few links for our customers. Our findings were that
there just are not many opportunities for such scholarships and grants, so we decided to offer one at Art in the
Mountains. We gave a scholarship to a Central Oregon resident to attend one of our Bend, OR workshops and
it was amazing.
Our 2009 recipient had never picked up a brush and she left the workshop with many great starts and a couple
of wonderful finished paintings. Best of all she left with a desire to continue painting and a wealth of experience
to draw on. It is a great experience to paint and record our ideas and interpretations. We at AITM would like to
extend this experience to someone in 2010 who would love to benefit from this opportunity.
For 2010 we are offering a scholarship for one of our Bend art workshops to be given to a beginning artist who
is resident of Central Oregon and who might not otherwise be able to afford to attend. We chose this location
as it will allow the recipient to commute to the workshop without much added expense. This year the scholarship
is intended to welcome another newcomer to art.
Please read the criteria below then click on the Application Form Link above to apply.
Donating to the Scholarship Fund.
Last year many of you offered to donate to our scholarship recipient with cash for art supplies and actual art
supplies. There were several who asked about donating to the Scholarship fund for next year and so I am
setting up a system in which you may donate any amount and designate it for supplies, toward a workshop or
even establish a scholarship of your own.
If you would like AITM to offer a scholarship on your behalf or in someones memory we can establish this
scholarship and award for you. You can set the criteria of the award or if you like we can help with this. Call
503.930.4572 if you have any questions or would like to discuss your ideas. We will provide the name and
address of any recipient benefiting from your donation upon your request.
If this system works, the number of scholarships awarded will only be limited the response of our donors.
Regardless of customer participation, AITM will award one scholarship each year.
Payment Method: We accept checks, money orders and cashiers checks in U.S. Funds. If you would like to donate to help an
aspiring artist grow in their painting, please click on the donation form, print it out and send it in with your payment.
